- Description
- The successful appicant for the position of Commodity Buyer will be responsible for the assigned region strategic sourcing and developing of saving roadmaps for a defined commodity and/or sub commodity.
- Ensure the cost, quality and time-oriented supply with the required goods, materials, equipment’s and services under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets.
- Provide the inputs to design the perfect sourcing footprint for the commodity / sub commodity, define the roadmaps and make it happen
- Support to design optimal supply base
- Participation on development, coordination and steering of purchasing strategies for assigned commodities
- Support of proper make or buy decisions
- Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
- Guarantee compliance with internal procedures, structuring and bundling of global and regional aspects within the Commodity organization
- Improvement of all purchasing activities for the purposes of continuous improvement through global sourcing, long/life-time reductions etc.
- Commercial or technical degree
- 3+ years within the industry, automotive or commodity related, purchasing experience, operational and strategic involvement
- In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices
- PC knowledge (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Controlling and cost analysis knowledge (advantage but not necessary)
- Relevant SAP knowledge
- Fluent English required
