IT Support Engineer – Desktop, Win server, 1st line – English/Czech needed!
Be the first IT Support Engineer to take control of desktop and 1st line support within the Czech office branch. You will be supported by colleagues from other remote support centers and work within a truly international environment!

You will be responsible for providing Production Support to IT Developers based in the main development centre in Prague. This includes the configuration, implementation, technical support and administration of network, telecom, desktops and server infrastructure.
This is a great opportunity to be the first Technical support engineer within Prague, working remotely with other team members around the world. You will be joining the company from a very early stage given a strong opportunity to implement own ideas and plans on how to support an office of roughly 200 end users.
Your initial responsibilities will be to provide generalist customer / desktop support for all users, including those located in satellite sites if required. Perform project management duties relating to IT system upgrades or enhancements, initiated either locally or as part of a global project team. Ensure that the team adopts standard company processes and proactively engage in activities to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Firm’s information assets and to assist IT to deliver secure solutions to the business.
Additionally you will be involved in:
• Provide basic 1st line Application support for the various pieces of software used in the EME sites. Be able to pass a detailed analysis of an issue to 2nd line support team for issues which can not be resolved immediately.
• Provide generalist customer / desktop support for all users on both standard workstations and virtual workstations (Thin Client).
• Support and administer the Windows Desktop environment, rebuild workstations and laptops, load standard software applications and test hardware.
• Mobile & Blackberry support
• Provide local Network support and interact with Global network teams where necessary.
Primary requirements include:
• Excellent level of Czech and English (should be able to speak with colleagues on IT related questions, read and write IT documentation etc)
• IT Applications support troubleshooting
• Basic knowledge of ITIL
• Familiar with change and problem management toolsets and control processes. E.g. HP Service Centre.
• Experience in customer support, prior support experience of either Front or Back office applications.
• Proven ability to manage small / medium size projects
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Ability to professionally deal with conflict situations
• Self-motivated
• Ability to be part of a virtual team, working with and reporting into colleagues physically based in other EME offices.
