Director of Product Management IT Security
Our client is seeking a Director of Product Management to own the product strategy for one key market (Consumer of business), apply sound commercial assessment to decisions on products, work with “New Product” PMs to ensure success of additional new products and manage a small team of Product Managers
Responsibilities:
Be the advocate for our client's customers ensuring that their product needs are met.
Identify the “needle mover” priority requirements and correct product investment blend that will enable company objectives to be met.
Have a clear hands-on experience driven understanding of customers, partners, and employees of of our client to completely understand customer needs
Clearly understand our client’s customer segmentation and personas and continuously review to ensure they remain accurate and appropriate.
Continuously monitor competitor products, positioning, pricing, messaging, routes to market and key features
Continuously monitor product performance and feedback from customers and channels.
Communicate effectively with all Sales team internally and vendors externally.
Work with Product Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Sales and Technology to identify the right new propositions to take to market and ensure successful transition of these into your target segment.
Required skill set:
Graduate with a good first degree in engineering or technology
Demonstrable success in a hands-on product management role (ideally 8+ years), in one or more businesses that are geographically dispersed and strongly technology-based.
3+ years experience of managing teams of product managers to ensure build and maintenance of successful product portfolios.
Strong background and experience in the security market
Experience of ownership for new product justification and delivery
A track record of product success
Evidence of strong conceptual thinking and innovation – a track record of generating new ideas and concepts that challenge traditional frontiers of thought.
Must have experience of working in a multi-language business.
Effective second or third language ideal.
Highly customer-focused, but very aware that the customer doesn’t always know, or isn’t always able to articulate, what they want.
Strong international orientation with the ability to relate well to the US, EMEA and Asia Pacific cultures.
